  Grundfos Offers Dosing Training

03/12/2007

Grundfos Technical Institute will conduct metering pump training sessions in March, June, August and December. These 2-1/2-day programs are designed specifically as an introduction to chemical feed pumps and systems.

The realm of chemical dosing requires unique proficiencies. This course is designed to help develop the relevant vocabulary and technical expertise to enable students to effectively deal with dosing pump applications and concepts.

The course includes:
  • Dosing pump basics – chemical properties, positive displacement pump mechanics, performance characteristics, controls and instrumentation, complete systems, and market characteristics
  • Product families – categories of dosing pumps, configurations, performance ranges, use of technical literature, and a review of major manufacturers
  • Dosing pump selection – gathering required information for both new and replacement applications, selection criteria, accessories, life cycle cost comparisons, use of electronic selection software, and lots of practice
  • Laboratory exercises: installation, control, priming, calibration, metering rate adjustment, assembly, and introductory troubleshooting.

Training takes place at Grundfos Pumps Corporation in Olathe, KS, on these dates:
  • March 6-8
  • June 5-7
  • August 28-30
  • December 4-6

Topics will focus on sizing and selection, real world application theory, sales strategy, and key features and benefits. Instruction will take place in Grundfos’ state-of-the art laboratory. All participants will gain valuable instruction, and hands-on experience through interaction with live pumping systems. Tuition is $150; applicants can register on line at: www.us.grundfos.com/training. Or, call 913/227-3400, ext. 3436; and by email: training@us.grundfos.com.
